More support could be on the way for residents in Wheatley.

Wallaceburg councilor Aaron Hall is looking to create a task force to help the village of Wheatley rebuild and thrive, after an explosion rocked their downtown core this past summer, bringing devastation and hardship to Wheatley residents and businesses.

Hall plans on bringing in a motion to council next month to have Chatham-Kent administration prepare a report for council about the steps needed to create a task force for Wheatley.

Hall wants to pattern the Wheatley task force after the 2007 Wallaceburg Task Force, which had tangible results to improve the economic conditions of Wallaceburg, bringing in new jobs to a community that had experienced a huge loss of jobs in the decade prior.
