Municipal officials will be updating local residents on the situation in Wheatley as crews continue working to prevent any future gas leaks and explosions.
A town hall meeting is being held at 6:30 tonight at the Wheatley Arena, although those looking to attend in-person are asked to register in advance. CLICK HERE for registration information.
The meeting will also be live streamed on the municipality’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Work at the site of the APEC 1 well in Wheatley was put on hold last week to assess the installation of the cement between the casing and the conductor pipe. Crews were expected to be back on the job this week to begin plugging the well.
Residents are reminded that if at any time they detect the smell of gas, call 9-1-1 immediately.
