It’s going to be a blustery day in Chatham-Kent.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement with strong winds expected to blow into the area.
Strong southerly winds will develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon. Winds will ease this evening or overnight as the front moves out of the region. Stronger winds could be possible with showers or thunderstorms.
Gusts as high as 70 to 90 kilometres are possible, which could damage shelters, tents, and awnings. Officials say loose objects may be thrown in the wind, causing damage or injury, and high winds could result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
