Drivers got a taste of winter on the roads around Chatham yesterday, prompting the municipality to release a list of frequently asked questions about winter road maintenance.
With 3,500 kilometres of roads and 78 pieces of snow removal equipment, the Municipality says certain roads are prioritized.
Main roads that see high volumes of traffic are plowed first, followed by ones that are less travelled, and so on.
Officials say some roads aren’t plowed at all because they are deemed as low traffic with no residents. These roads are clearly marked.
On average, Chatham-Kent sees 22 days with snow fall every year.
