Cleanup continues today after more than 15cm of snow fell across Chatham-Kent over the weekend.
School buses in zones 7 and 8 have been cancelled today because of the road conditions. As per the Lambton Kent and St Clair catholic school board contingency plan, exams at all Chatham-Kent high schools will be postponed by another day.
Snow plows are making their way across the municipality. The situation is compounded by a reported province-wide shortage of salt. Published reports say one of the world’s largest underground salt mines in Goderich running at full capacity in an attempt to keep up with demand.
There are 3500 km of roads across Chatham-Kent with 78 pieces of snow-clearing equipment.
