Quite a coup for hockey in Wallaceburg.
Wallaceburg Minor Hockey has been selected to receive a $10,000 grant through the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund program.
“The fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids,” WMHA spokesman Ryan Allaer says in an online statement. “This grant will have a tremendous impact on our hockey program especially this season in the midst of the pandemic.”
This grant will be directed to support the program’s skills development camps and the purchase of equipment for its instructional program, giving its youngest players a jumpstart in the sport.
