A shoplifting incident in Chatham over the weekend has landed a local woman with charges.
Authorities were called to a St Clair Street business shortly after 6:30 Saturday evening and say a woman was accused of stealing roughly $500 in items.
The suspect was tracked down and arrested and the stolen goods recovered.
The 37-year-old is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, and obstructing police for giving a false name when being taken into custody. Authorities say she also had outstanding warrants for her arrest from previous incidents.
