Police have now made an arrest in connection to a liquor store theft in Chatham from last year.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a woman entered the LCBO on Wellington Street on December 28, 2023, removed items from the shelf and left the store without paying.
The theft was captured on surveillance cameras which officers used to identify a suspect. A warrant was later issued for the Chatham woman’s arrest when she could not be located.
On Tuesday, officers located and arrested the 39-year-old suspect on Jeffrey Street in Chatham. She is now charged with theft and stolen property and will answer the charges in court later this month.
