A Chatham-Kent woman has been arrested for mischief and assault.

Police responded to a disturbance to a residence on James Street in Wallaceburg on Monday evening shortly after 6:15 pm.

Officers say the woman allegedly caused property damage while attending the residence, including breaking a window and throwing garbage around.

The woman left but returned approximately 20 minutes later. According to police she engaged in a verbal altercation with others which escalated into a physical altercation when she attempted to enter the home forcibly. The woman left before the police arrived.

The 29-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was located, arrested and charged with assault, uttering threats and two counts of mischief. She was transported to place headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
