A local man will have to answer to a judge in court after an argument with a woman turned violent.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a domestic disturbance in Wallaceburg at around 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Authorities said a man and a woman were involved in a heated verbal argument that turned physical when the man struck the woman. The woman required medical assistance as a result of the assault.
As a result, a 59-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and is now charged with one count of assault. He was later released from custody with conditions and a September court date.
