Woman Charged For Refusing To Leave Holding Cell

A Wallaceburg woman who had already been arrested for causing a disturbance is facing an additional charge for refusing to leave her holding cell.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Thursday shortly before 4 a.m., officers were called the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Grand Avenue in Chatham.

When police arrived, officers found the woman allegedly yelling and screaming obscenities outside of the hospital. She was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

While in custody and awaiting a bail hearing, the woman allegedly refused to exit her cell for processing. She was cautioned but continued to be uncooperative.

As a result, the 48-year-old accused is now charged with causing a disturbance and obstructing a peace officer.
