A local woman will have to answer to a judge in court after she was allegedly seen passed out in her vehicle.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a gas station employee contacted police on Tuesday at around 1:30 a.m. after they spotted a woman slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle in a parking lot on Park Avenue East in Chatham.
Authorities said the woman was showing signs of intoxication and was arrested. Despite several demands, the woman refused to provide a breath test.
Police have not released what charges the woman is facing, but said her driver’s license has been suspended and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
The 31-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was later released from custody with a future court date.
