A local man has been charged after an argument with a woman turned violent in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a disturbance on St. Clair Street shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police arrived to find a woman with visible injuries and learned that she had been assaulted after a verbal argument had escalated.
As a result, a 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was later released from custody with conditions and a July court date.
