A local man has been charged after a woman was struck with a bottle during a domestic dispute in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a reported assault at a Taylor Avenue address at around 11:14 a.m. on Sunday.
According to investigators, an argument between a man and woman had turned violent on Saturday when the man allegedly hit the woman with a beverage bottle, causing a minor injury.
As a result, a 42-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested and is now charged with assault with a weapon. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a May court date.
