A Walpole Island man already facing several charges has been arrested again after a woman was assaulted in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to an address on Reaume Avenue at around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, following a fight between a man and woman.
Authorities said the woman was thrown to the floor and the man left before police arrived.
Officers located and arrested a suspect later that day.
A 24-year-old Walpole Island man is now charged with assault. Police say the man faces several other charges from separate incidents including obstructing a police officer, escaping lawful custody, failing to identify himself, and failing to stop. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
