Women in Policing

Chatham-Kent is below the provincial and national average when it comes to women in the police force.

According to Statistics Canada, the country’s police force is about 21.4% female, and the provincial average is slightly lower at 19.8%.

However, the number of officers in Chatham-Kent’s police department is 21 out of a total of 155 officers, or 13.5%.

Neighbouring communities like Windsor are also below the provincial average, with Windsor at 15.9% and Sarnia at 12%.
