Skills Ontario is holding a Career Exploration event for young women, and they’re looking for mentors to answer questions and share experiences.
Kayla Schurman from Skills Ontario says showcasing the trades to young women is important.
“The more events we have like this, the more we see females in the trades, that’s how the change comes about. If we don’t talk about it it’s just going to continue to be that way. I’ve talked to a lot of women and they can do the exact same thing men can. The more it’s just all about not limiting our thinking and limiting what we think we can do.”
