Local residents will be taking a step back in time in honour of International Women’s Day.
Spokesperson Michelle Schryer says the March 8th will include an afternoon tea at the Chatham Cultural Centre.
“It’ll be a lunch time event from 11:30-1:30pm there’s no cost for admission but we are gratefully accepting donations,” says Schryer. “And there will be some ‘her-storical’ figures that have made incredible contributions throughout time.”
The civil-rights pioneer is being honoured as the first woman to appear on Canadian currency.
Admission is by donation.
