A philanthropic group of women is kicking off its 10th year by supporting families in need.
100+ Women Who Care Chatham-Kent recently presented Family Service Kent with a donation of $10,275, proceeds from their August meeting.
Officials with Family Service Kent say the funding will help those who have experienced complex trauma access the counselling and support they need to heal.
Members of 100+ Women Who Care Chatham-Kent meet four times each year to vote on which charitable organization they would like to donate to next. Each member contributes $100 to donation.
Since August, 2016, the group has donated over $395,000 to support 32 charities and organizations in Chatham-Kent.
