Workers Ratify New Contract At Blenheim Construction Company

Employees at a Blenheim-based construction company have rubberstamped a new contract that includes a significant pay raise.

The 52 workers at Clarke Construction Inc. recently voted in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement, which provides them with a 23.6 per cent wage increase over the contract term.

As well, employer contributions to employees’ retirement savings will also increase by 3.8 per cent over the term.

Clarke Construction Inc. employees work as labourers, equipment operators, truck drivers, and mechanics. They are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53.
