A London resident has died following a tragic crash on Highway 401 just east of Chatham-Kent.
Emergency crews responded to the highway near Currie Road in the Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich around 3:30 this morning.
Investigators say it appears a passenger vehicle was heading east in the westbound lanes when it collided with a commercial vehicle.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 25-year-old from London, was taken to hospital by EMS and later pronounced dead.
The driver and lone occupant of the commercial vehicle was not hurt.
The victim’s name is not being released out of respect for the family’s privacy.
The investigation, involving Elgin OPP and the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team, remains ongoing.
