A local woman has been charged after police stopped a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers received a traffic complaint on Saturday at around 8 p.m. about a vehicle on Poplar Street.
Authorities located the suspect vehicle in the area, travelling in the wrong direction. After pulling the vehicle over, officers arrested the driver, who was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol.
As a result, a 58-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. She was later released from custody with conditions and an August court date.
