The battle continues for Water Wells First as they continue the fight for safe drinking water.

The activist group maintains black shale has seeped into the water wells from the local wind farms.

Spokesperson Jessica Brooks says the municipality has offered water tests, but not one that includes black shale.

“We found a place in Michigan that will do it, but I think they want to stay in Canada, so I’m not sure what’s next,” she says. “That’s why we put the caution out to people, this seems to favour the wind farms because (the test) will come back as there’s nothing wrong with your water, and that’s misleading.”

Brooks says it is very frustrating when government officials maintain they can’t find out specifically what the labs test for, yet she can do it with one phone call.

The group maintains a full provincial Health Hazard Investigation is needed to find out exactly what is going on.
