Water Wells First says that the motion Council passed on Monday is the Municipality’s ‘attempt to deflect civil lawsuits away from itself.’

Council passed a motion on Monday to cover the costs of inspections to the five wells in North Kent experiencing problems, and to ask the Ontario government to halt the turbine construction until these issues are resolved.

In an e-mail to the 99.1 newsroom, spokesperson for Water Wells First Kevin Jakubec says they’re still calling for the Mayor and Chief Legal Officer to resign.

The group is also vowing to continue its civil disobedience actions to stop the North Kent Wind project.
