Organizers of an upcoming charity festival have announced that the event will support local youth in need.

Proceeds raised during the 20th annual Festival of Giving will be donated to Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO) in downtown Chatham.

Formally known as Access Open Minds, YWHO connects youth aged 12-25 with mental health support, substance use care, primary care, housing, and other community and social services.

“It was important for the festival volunteers to find an organization that we could help spotlight and bring attention to,” said Festival of Giving Co-Chair Tim Regan. “The funds raised will be used to provide activities and programming for youth in our community.”

The care, services and programs offered by YWHO are free and can be accessed by youth on a walk-in basis at their facility at 140 King Street West.

The Festival of Giving will take place on June 3 at the Sons of Kent brewery in Chatham with a “Retro Rewind” theme.

Information on how to purchase tickets for the event will be released by organizers next week.
