Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Towards Women.

The Zonta Club of Chatham-Kent will be taking to the Third Street Bridge in Chatham for a rally to show support for the millions worldwide who suffer the effects of sexual assault, spousal abuse, human trafficking, rape, female circumcision and other crimes.

This event is for all citizens – men, women and children to stand up against violence. New this year, children who participate will be given a certificate in recognition of their social awareness and participation.

This year’s demonstration will follow COVID safety protocols with participants standing six feet apart, rather than marching as in years past.

The Zonta Says No rally runs from 12:15 until 12:45 this afternoon.
