Nearly 500 local residents crowded Wallaceburg’s UAW Hall to show their support of the Sydenham District Hospital on Tuesday evening.
Many residents let their voice be heard, with Chatham-Kent Health Alliance CEO Colin Patey booed to new decibel levels during the public meeting.
A “new vision” was presented by the SDH Board, which was unanimously endorsed by all in attendance.
The new vision includes 24/7 emergency room care as well as an integrated healthcare delivery system. Partnering with other hospitals is something that has to be down according to co-chair Conrad Noel.
There was some concern that the Wallaceburg Hospital was off of the Small Hospital Classification List that the Province has. Board Chair Sheldon Parsons looks to get back on that list for funding options
