A man known to frequent the Chatham-Kent area who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has now been arrested.
The warrant was issued for 30-year-old Nicholas McCullough late last month after he allegedly breached his statutory release. He was serving a six-year, seven-month sentence for aggravated assault, and discharging a prohibited firearm with intent among other offences.
As well, McCullough was identified as a suspect in a violent home invasion in Windsor on March 18, where two armed men wearing masks forced their way into an Aspenshore Avenue home. The men assaulted two elderly occupants and stole a large quantity of jewelry before fleeing the scene.
At the time, police had said he was known to frequent the Chatham-Kent, London and Sarnia areas.
The Windsor Police Service announced on Monday that McCullough has since been arrested in London and was transported back to Windsor.
He now faces nearly 20 charges in connection to the home invasion including two counts of assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, break-and-enter to commit an offence, and false representation of a peace officer, among others.
