Following the recent influenza outbreak at the Chatham Campus of the Health Alliance, CEO Lori Marshall is thanking staff for their help.

“It really does take everyone in the organization. It’s a commitment from the clinical staff in terms of making sure that they are putting on the protective gloves, gowns, and masks, and this adds to their daily efforts”, says Marshall.

She made the comments at a recent media update.

Marshall says the entire hospital works together during outbreaks to make sure illness doesn’t spread.

“The housekeeping staff, who are really the unsung heroes during outbreaks, are out there cleaning and making sure that we’re using the appropriate products from the type of bug that we’re seeing”, Marshall says.

The CKHA CEO is also thanking the community for adhering to the restrictions on the affected floors, and for avoiding the hospital while feeling ill.

The outbreak ended earlier last week.
