Dresden’s Dave Cameron will now be immortalized… as a snowplow.
On Wednesday, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Winmar Property Restoration Specialists revealed the winning names for a portion of C-K’s snow plow fleet, including a special dedication to a local community volunteer.
One of C-K’s snowplows will now go by “The Mountain”, named after Dresden’s Dave Cameron.
Mayor Darrin Canniff and Winmar owner and operator Dave Constancio surprised Dave with the announcement live on the air during 99.1’s XS Mornings with Jay & Robyn on Wednesday morning.
In true fashion, Cameron was in studio to promote the 50th anniversary celebration of the Dresden Jr. Kings 1970-71 OHA Championship. The Kings will hold a special ceremony prior to their January 29th game with the Blenheim Blades.
From a prolific baseball player in his youth to a prolific community leader as an adult, Dave is well known in the local sports world for his tireless dedication to both baseball and hockey in Dresden. Cameron is the current long time President of the Dresden Jr Kings and has also been president for Dresden Minor Baseball AND the Dresden Kinsmen.
Dave volunteers his time at countless events for each organization and “anything Dresden” while being a staple of the community.
Dave has also jumped into the acting world with The Boomtown Players in Bothwell.
