It’s election day in Ontario.
Polls are open at 9:00 AM and stay open until 9:00 PM tonight.
Communications Officer with Elections Ontario Jessica Pellerin says if you still don’t know where you’re supposed to vote, you can look it up.
“All the information is available on the Elections Ontario website. We have what’s called the Voter Information Service where voters can look up their voting location, their returning office, as well as look up what types of ID are acceptable,” says Pellerin.
Pellerin says staff at the polls will be able to help out anyone with accessibility needs.
“We offer the ability for voters to bring a friend or support person to assist them with marking their ballot. Voters can use their mobile phones in the voting location as an accessibility device. We provide magnifies and ballot templates with Braille numbering and cutouts. Voters can book an American Sign Language interpreter or intervenor, which we would cover the cost for, so there are quite a few accessible services at voting locations,” Pellerin says.
