Chatham’s rainbow crosswalk is finished.
Councillor Brock McGregor says the timing is perfect.
“We were anticipating that it would be completed prior to Pride Week in Chatham-Kent which is next week. With the construction going on downtown on king Street, it was dependent on that working being done. We got notified yesterday that the contractor was going to try to get it done, weather-permitting. It was a nice surprise to wake up in the morning, go downtown, and see it completed,” says McGregor.
McGregor says the response to the crosswalk has been very positive.
It’s located beside the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chatham, which is just a few blocks away from its originally proposed location.
